Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring and highly motivated Stock Controller in the Radiology Department at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, so come and join our friendly and well-supported team.
The post involves overseeing the management of all stock levels, continually assessing, ordering, and organising stock in a way that ensures all stock is readily available whenever required for the effective operation of the Radiology department ensuring the different modalities have adequate stock to function as effectively as possible. The successful candidate will work closely with radiologists, radiographers, nursing staff, clerical staff, and the radiology management team.This is a cross-site position though the post is mainly based at the St. George's site.
Our staff also benefit from the inner London high-cost area supplement of 20%.

Main duties of the job
Job Summary
The diagnostics and interventional radiology department incorporates the following modalities: Interventional Radiology (IR), Ultrasound (U/S), Computerised Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (N/M), plain x-rays and fluoroscopy. These modalities have high levels of activity which translates into a high demand & turnover of consumable items. The following are key components of the role:
- To oversee the management of all stock levels, continually assessing, ordering, and organising stock in a way that ensures all stock is readily available whenever required for the effective operation of the Radiology department ensuring the different modalities have adequate stock to function as effectively as possible.
- To be responsible for keeping the various software platforms in Radiology that involve consumables up to date and ensuring that payments for the high-cost devices is made by utilising databases to raise the usage and costs each month before submitting to the finance team.
- To maintain effective communication and professional relationships with all areas within Radiology and with associated clinical areas within the Trust.
- To undertake flexible working hours and practices as required for the efficient running of the service.
- To contribute to a professional, high quality, effective, flexible, and efficient radiology service implementing best practice, local and national guidelines, and policies.
