Job summary

The Role of the R&D Finance Team is to provide financial advice to support the Research and Development work within the Trust and to assist with the administration of R&D projects.

The Team will provide financial costing and monitoring of R&D projects undertaken within the Trust and ensure funding is properly collected and recorded.

The R&D Finance Team forms part of the NHS Trust's Management Accounts section and is based in the Joint Research Office working closely with St. George's University of London's Research Funding Team.

The Management Accounts section aims to deliver Financial Budgetary Reporting and Financial Advice on budgetary control, Cost Reduction and other finance-related issues to the Trust as a whole and on its constituent service areas. Part of this process involves the annual setting of servicebudgets for the Trust and the delivery of regular financial reporting on the performance of these budgets to key managers and budget holders.

Please note there will be an Excel Test prior to interview after which point the main interview will commence and you will be able to explain your methodology and reasoning for the results of the test.

Main duties of the job

1. To deputise and assist the R&D Finance Manager in R&D financial work undertaken within the Trust.2. To provide pro-active post-award administration and management of a portfolio of research grants and clinical studies3. To assist production of regular grant reporting and analysis to all levels of management and research leads.4. To provide financial advice and guidance to Managers, Research Clinicians and Administrators within the Trust.5. To assist in production of all external R&D reporting requirements.
