Job summary
The B5 Occupational Therapist role is integral to the delivery of occupational therapy across several locations including St George's main hospital site, Queen Mary's Community services in Wandsworth. This post is integral to the delivery of activity with clear specifications around staffing ratios, timeliness of assessment and intensity of rehabilitation, functional retraining and discharge planning of patients. The role is essential in order to support/facilitate flow and patient care through clinical pathways and the post supports the delivery of 7 day services.
Main duties of the job
Clinical responsibility for the assessment and treatment planning of patients referred to the service, including group interventions if appropriate, and will be expected to participate in the development and monitoring of services in conjunction with supervisor. Depending upon level of experience, post holders may be expected to supervise and participate in training of support staff.
All post holders will rotate between posts every six months, normally on nearest Monday to 1st October and 1st April each year but rotations may be longer or shorter depending on joining date, needs of service and individual personal development needs.
