Main duties of the job
The General Surgery department are looking for two highly motivated, professional and competent patient pathway co-ordinators to work within the Directorate at St Georges Hospital. The post will be supporting a team of highly skilled General Surgery Surgery consultants focused on outpatient support and improvement.
The role will involve providing oversight and support to the smooth running of general surgery outpatients. The post holders will also be involved in the validation of the PTL, ensuring pathway management is in line with the Trust's Access Policy. Patients need to be robustly tracked through the appropriate pathway and ensure that all the relevant data is accurately recorded, reported and analysed in a timely manner in order to meet national and internal targets.
We are looking for two candidates who have a good secondary education, with good attention to detail and committed to excellent patient service. It is essential that the post holders have a good understanding of national standards in relation to 18 weeks 'referral to treatment' pathways. The successful candidates will also need to possess excellent Information Technology skills, with the ability to use several computer packages. The post requires the individuals to have had experience in an NHS administration setting, with good communication skills as the post holders will be dealing with a wide ranging audience and sensitive issues.
