Do you have experience in caring for patients with substance misuse? Are you looking to develop as a nurse specialist and manage your own patient caseload? Then our Alcohol Liaison Nurse post may be the next step on your career.
The alcohol liaison team provides timely and responsive drug and alcohol assessment, screening, interventions and management advice with onward referral to and close liaison with, local community services. We provide support for medical and nursing staff on the effective management of substance withdrawal or stabilization within our the Emergency Department and acute wards.
Main duties of the job
Providing a screening and brief intervention service to clients who have been identified as drinking to a level that is assessed as being potentially harmful to their health.Assess all clients referred from ED and inpatient wards/clinics and provideexpert advice and signposting to community substance misuse services.Work closely with local specialist services providing provision for people with alcohol dependency.Be able to communicate and negotiate in complex situations, and have theability to make clear autonomous and clinically safe decisions related to patientcare.The post holder will be required to work flexible hours, which will include some
