Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Nuclear Medicine Physicist to join a dynamic team providing physics support to St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and nearby Trusts. The role would suit a recent STP graduate, those nearing completion or those working towards HCPC registration via alternative routes.
The Nuclear Medicine department has two Siemens Intevo SPECT/CTs, one Siemens Symbia SPECT, two gamma counters and multiple gamma probes. A radioiodine therapy service is managed and delivered by Physics, additionally support to external departments and support to a fleet of PET/CT mobiles. The department is an avid supporter of STP training and you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to training.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to work in the following key areas : quality assurance of instrumentation (gamma cameras, counters, calibrators as well as PET/CT), clinical processing in terms of quantification of uptake in images and supporting a GFR service, direct patient contact through managing and delivering a radio-iodine therapy service, supporting the department in complying with its legal obligations (EA, IRR and IRMER), promoting service development projects and research, training of others, mainly trainees on the STP programme.

- MSc in Physics or Medical Physics [or equivalent]
- IPEM Diploma or equivalent in Medical Physics
- State registration as a Clinical Scientist

- Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant Nuclear Medicine hospital environment (or equivalent)
