Job summary
The Clinical Fellow will contribute to the inpatient work across the Senior Health Department. We have several wards at St George's Hospital which specialise in the management of complex frail patients. The patients who come to our wards usually have an acute medical problem (often a frailty syndrome) which requires expert Senior Health multi-disciplinary care. As well as our general Senior Health wards, there will be opportunity to rotate to posts on the Orthogeriatrics team (looking after older patients perioperatively following trauma), our Acute Senior Health Unit and our OPAL (Older People's Advice and Liaison) team who work at the 'front door' of the hospital in AMU and ED.
There will also be opportunities to attend outpatient and telephone clinic and review ward referrals from other specialities. You will be expected to contribute to teaching our medical and physician associate students (on average half a day a week, depending on term time and placements) and also take part in audits/quality improvement projects.
The IMT3 level Clinical Fellow would be expected to supervise the other junior doctors on the ward.
