Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic Band 4 Registered Nursing Associate to join our friendly team in endoscopy at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Applicants need to have recent acute NHS experience. Although it is desirable to have previous endoscopy experience full training will be given. The unit has an international reputation for providing best practice and is one of the three national Endoscopy training centres. The South West London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre has been based in the department since November 2006.

Main duties of the job

You will be working and support the nursing workforce to provide safe effective care; ensuring evidence based care for patients under the indirect supervision of a registered nurse.

Deliver clinical care to patients as required within set protocols and within the scope of the Nursing Associates practice.

Contribute to patient assessment (after appropriate delegation from RN) and plan and deliver high standards of care .

Monitor patient and act on relevant Treatment Escalation Plan.

Set up the Endoscopy room pre-procedure

Assist the Endoscopist once trained to take biopsy's and polyps as required.
