Job summary

The Lead Midwife for

Women's Health Lead for Quality, Assurance and Safety - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Is an integral and highly valued role in Maternity services. The post holder provides assurance that the maternity services have, and work within, established guidelines, processes and procedures that facilitate consistent compliance with all locally and nationally agreed quality and safety standards based on the clinical governance framework. A secondment will be considered and this will be for 18mths in the first instance and accordingly applications from previous candidates are welcomed.

Main duties of the job

The Lead Midwife will work closely with the Director of Midwifery, Maternity triumvirate and clinical workforce, you will lead and report on monitoring standards of a range of clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and patient safety activities ensuring the maternity services can withstand external assessment, i.e. CQC, CNST, including NHSE, External Auditors, NICE, screening and accreditation organisations and can demonstrate compliance with recommendations.

You will lead the Obstetric and Gynaecology Governance Teams, Quality Improvement & Audit Midwives and the Bereavement Team.
