Job summary

We are looking to recruit 1 Desktop Support engineers to join our existing IT Desktop Support team.

The role would be to work as part of a team supporting clinical and non-clinical users throughout the trust in their use of all ICT services and where appropriate offering advice and training to the user.

Main duties of the job

To deliver a high quality technical support service to the users of production services and interfaces as directed.

To carry out the installation, repair, maintenance and configuration of all IT devices and software, raising incidents with and managing third party suppliers for service and support issues on a regular basis.

Responsible for managing the acquisition, implementation, support, maintenance, performance, availability, capacity, upgrading and ultimate disposal of all ICT components.

To provide a remote and desk-side ICT support service to all members of the Trust.

We are looking for previous experience of working in a high demanding environment with excellent communication skills and to be able to work well as part of a team.

Previous experience of NHS clinical information systems and remote support software would be a definite advantage.

  • Experience of using ICT equipment and software including MS Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in the use of Internet based software

Desirable

  • Significant experience of providing desktop support services and/or network management, preferably within the NHS or other healthcare setting
  • Experience of improving work procedures and practices.
  • Experience of Clinical systems

Skills

  • Customer focused and proactive - able to put the customer at the heart of everything you do
  • Excellent communication skills and able to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Able to record complex technical details accurately and able to document technical procedures

Desirable

  • Understanding and knowledge of health service information systems and the role of Information Governance.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience 1st and in 2nd line ICT support role in large, multi-user environment
  • Strong Technical Experience - MCP
