Job summary
The Urology Department at St George's NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a registrar level trainee to work within the reconstructive urology, functional or oncology teams. The post is ideal for a urologist who wants to gain further experience and to be more competitive at National Selection or wish to gain experience within a specialist high volume Urology Department.
The successful candidate must be GMC registered and have at least 1 year of urological experience at core level. The appointee will participate in the Urology middle grade on-call rota (frequency 1 in 10). An interest in research, audit and teaching is desirable.
Main duties of the job
The Urology Department is divided into 4 teams, (A) Andrology and reconstruction, (B) Stones / Endourology, (C) Cancer and (D) Benign functional. Each team has at least one Senior and middle grade position.
This post is a replacement positions for the Junior Fellow in the Reconstructive or Oncology Teams and can commence July 2023.
The on-call commitment is to the urology department at St George's only on a 1 in 10 "registrar of the week" (8-5 Mon-Fri and 48 hour weekend) and a separate 1 in 10 weekday night rota.
