Job summary
To provide an obstetric ultrasound service within the Fetal Medicine Unit of St George's Hospital.
As a screening sonographer you will be expected to undertake all aspects of obstetric scanning from 12 weeks gestation to post term.
In order to reach the minimum criteria for the position you must have the following:
- A Post graduate qualification in obstetric ultrasound (Pg Dip, Pg Cert, DMU, or MSc in medical U/S or UK recognised equivalent)
- HCPC or other UK registration (GMC/ NMC)
- Up to date FMF accreditation for NT screening and first trimester Doppler
- Good communication skills and a flexible approach are essential
- Knowledge of feto-maternal dopplers is not essential but desirable.

About us
St Georges is an acute general hospital in South West London, with a large Maternity unit serving a diverse community, which receives a large number of tertiary referrals from other centres. The approximate number of deliveries per annum is 5500.
Tertiary fetal medicine, fetal cardiology, day assessment and routine screening are undertaken in the same unit where there are 8 scanning rooms.
A busy, cohesive unit with great support from our highly experienced fetal medicine specialists Professor Basky Thilaganathan, Professor Aris Papageorghiou, Professor Asma Khalil and Mr. Amar Bhide.
