Job summary

We are looking for two Band 6 EBME Engineers to work for St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the largest healthcare provider in southwest London and one of the UK's largest teaching hospitals.

Although the post is ideal for EBME Engineer with few years of experience but new university graduates are also encouraged to apply if they seek to start and develop their career in medical engineering.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the medical equipment management throughout its life cycle and will be involved in acceptance processes, scheduled preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, repairs and the decommissioning and safe disposal of the equipment.

The post involves working with other healthcare professionals, often in clinical areas, therefore excellent communication skills will be required to interact with medical, nursing and technical staff.

About us

As an EBME engineer you will be part of the Medical Devices Technical Services (MDTS) business unit, one of the main units of the Medical Physics & Clinical Engineering Department of St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The MDTS is responsible for providing a range of medical equipment management services including full maintenance management of all medical equipment across the Trust hospitals as well as to external NHS & private healthcare providers. The MDTS services are delivered in accordance with MHRA Managing Medical Devices and its ISO 13485 Medical Devices Quality Management System.

The post holder will be based at St Georges Hospital but you will be mainly required to work in the field at any of customers' sites or the Trusts' other sites.

  • BSc/BEng degree in a relevant engineering subject such as Medical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering and/or relevant technical/scientific degree

Desirable

  • Degree Level 2:1 or higher

  • Specialist technical training in the maintenance and repair of a range of wide range of medical devices used in major NHS and private hospitals and community services.
