Senior Health Consultant (Geriatric Medicine)

Job summary

This role will require the post holder to work on a rotational basis, providing clinical leadership to the OPAL team and delivering inpatient care to patients admitted to the Acute Senior Health Unit (ASHU) at St George's Hospital.

The post holder will rotate with a Senior Health consultant colleague. This job is to join an Interface Geriatrics team of acute and community minded colleagues providing clinical and strategic leadership. There are three main areas of work: OPAL, the Acute Senior Health ward and supporting community management through SDEC / rapidaccess clinic pathways.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a colleague to join us as Consultant Geriatrician, working on a substantive basis at the St George's Hospital, Tooting. The post holder will deliver clinical leadership and CGA to half an inpatient Senior Health ward, supported by a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team,

There will also be opportunity to develop and deliver specialist interests on a sessional basis in areas such as interface geriatrics in the Older People's Assessment (OPAL) team, surgical liaison or community work including outpatient CGA clinics and integrated working with our community trusts in Wandsworth & Merton (CLCH) to deliver a Hospital at Home service.
