Job summary
The Oncology department provides a comprehensive service to the population of Wandsworth, Merton and Sutton Health Authority (approximately 610,000) and to patients from Kingston and Richmond, North West Surrey, Croydon and South East London. The Department of Oncology provides expert services for the investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of all forms of malignancy and provides comprehensive clinical care to patients using inpatient, outpatient, day care and community facilities. There is on site access to both CT and MRI scanning.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for a Physician's Associate in the oncology department at St. George's University Hospitals Foundation Trust. This is a full time substantive post for the successful candidate to work as an integral member of a dynamic oncology department within an acute teaching hospital trust starting as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will join a team of consultants, specialist registrars, junior doctors, clinical nurse specialists and a growing acute oncology team.
You will be working as part of a team managing patients on our inpatient wards as well as the chemotherapy unit and Ambulatory Oncology Care Unit.

Essential
- BA/BS Degree prior to undertaking PA program
- PG Dip in Physician Assistant Studies from a UK training programme
- Current and valid certification or re-certification by the Physician Assistant National Examination
- If US Trained: Current and valid certification with the National Commission on Certification for Physician Associates (NCCPA)
- Registration with the UK Managed Voluntary Registry for physician assistants as soon as it is in place
- Member of UKAPA
Desirable
- CPR, ACLS and PALS certification required
Experience

- Ability to organise and Prioritise workload effectively
- Ability to exercise sound judgements when faced with conflicting pressures
- Ability to motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team
