Job summary

Applications are invited for a substantive full time consultant geneticist with a focus on rare disease genetics in the department of Clinical Genetics. The post holder will have an opportunity to develop their own area of expertise, but we would particularly welcome applications from individuals with an interest in cardiac genetics. Alongside other consultants in the rare disease and cancer genetics team, they will be responsible for seeing patients across the SW Thames region both at St. George's University Hospitals and in district general hospitals around the region.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Genetics service is staffed by a team of experienced medical, genetic counselling and administrative staff and includes specialist cardiac clinics including inherited arrhythmias and aortopathies as well as general clinics. There is an opportunity to work across services including at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas's. Staff work closely with all the disciplines involved in the care of these patients.
