We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic colleague to join our Senior Health team at St George's Hospital on a substantive basis. We are a large and friendly team, working closely together to help drive development and deliver high quality care for older adults across St George's Trust and our local community.
Main duties of the job
This job is for a consultant to join the Surgical liaison service and further develop the role of specialist geriatric input to the surgical specialities. This recruitment is to fill a currently available post in Vascular surgery with a longer term plan to secure more funding for this area and to provide comprehensive and robust assessments to older and/or frailer patients admitted under surgery for both elective and emergency care. With the multidisciplinary team, the appointee will provide post-acute Geriatric Medicine and comprehensive geriatric assessment to frail and elderly patients admitted to the Surgical services. There will be opportunities to develop and deliver specialist interests on a sessional basis in areas such as ENT surgical liaison, Major trauma liaison, orthogeriatrics, complex arthroplasty and osteoporosis.
