Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to be part of our Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology services. This job is a locum post for 18 months to replace sabbatical leave. The job has been advertised as a full time position but we will consider part time position for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

The appointed individual will provide clinical expertise in Reproductive Medicine and be part of Gynaecology on call consultant team. We are especially in need of an individual with expertise in fertility and assisted conception, transvaginal scanning and reproductive endocrinology. Other skills that can contribute to the Gynaecology Dept are also welcome.

The candidate should demonstrate strong skills in working independently and within the care group and in collaboration with other relevant clinical departments with a multidisciplinary team.

The post is suitable for candidates who hold the RCOG subspeciality training in Reproductive Medicine or those with strong background and previous experience in the field.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oFull registration the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for full registration if applying from abroad
  • oCurrently on the specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the interview date.
  • oMRCOG or equivalent qualification
  • oUp to date adult and neonatal resuscitation training
  • oATSM in Benign Gynaecology
  • oATSM labour ward

Desirable

  • oMD/PhD
  • oExpertise in TV scanning
  • oATSM in Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynae
  • oEvidence of publication in the field of benign gynaecology and/or intrapartum care
  • oMOET course or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • oClinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in relevant specialty
  • oExperience in delivering care in a high risk delivery suite
  • oAbility to take full and independent responsibility for clinicaloEvidence of undertaking quality improvement project care of patients

  • oEvidence of developing evidence based services in obstetrics and gynaecology eg audit, guidelines or service development.
