An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care Support worker to join our friendly team in Croydon to work in our Unit which opened early May 2022. We have created a purpose built, state of the art unit for children's services. It has been designed by our patients and staff alike. This new unit includes a High Dependency Unit, The Inpatient Ward, Short Stay Unit, Day Care, Ambulatory and Oncology. Main duties of the job
The post holder assists the registered nurse to provide basic care within an agreed range of care duties in relation to a patient or group of patient. Although care may be delegated to healthcare assistants, the registered nurse is responsible to ensure the competency of the healthcare assistant to whom care is delegated, remains accountable both for the care provided and for the supervision. While the healthcare assistant will not always work under direct and immediate supervision, the task done must be within the framework of a plan of care. He/she is expected to be an effective member of the ward/department team and contribute to the best possible use of resources.
