Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinically experienced midwife to lead an innovative, newly re-modelled home birth service, with an element of flexible and on-call working.
As part of our Maternity Transformation work with Continuity of Carer, we are expanding our home birth service provision to enable us both to increase our case-loading capacity, whilst improving work life balance and job satisfaction for midwives.
We are looking for a highly motivated, clinically experienced and forward thinking team leader to help develop the team and build on their existing success. You will need a passion for supporting birthing people's choices and continuity of carer. You will support the team in providing antenatal and postnatal care as named midwives for their own caseload of women. You will also participate in rostered on-call intrapartum care for home birth and a 'Domino scheme' for women booked under the Crocus team.
Main duties of the job
Main duties consist of:
- Providing antenatal and postnatal care to a case load of birthing people with mixed risk
- Performing risk assessments which include home assessments and care planning throughout the birthing person's care
- Ensuring collaborative working with birthing people and their families to ensure they have informed choice about their care
- Multi-Disciplinary Team working to ensure appropriate and timely referrals to specialist services
- Ability to work on IT equipment such as laptops using excel and Cerner

- BSc in Midwifery
- Evidence of professional development
