Join our busy and supportive Gynaecological Oncology team in one of London's most diverse boroughs. This fixed-term Post CCT Fellow role offers excellent hands-on experience in gynae-oncology and complex benign gynaecology.
You will:
Run independent rapid access clinics
Work closely with consultants in gynae-oncology clinics and MDTs
Assist and develop skills in a wide range of operating lists
Gain experience in colposcopy and vulval care
Join the middle-grade rota including nights and weekends

Main duties of the job
General Responsibilities
The duties under Consultant supervision include the following -
Run independent rapid access clinics
Work closely with consultants in gynae-oncology clinics and MDTs
Assist and develop skills in a wide range of operating lists
Join the middle-grade rota including nights and weekends
Attending main theatre and day surgery and performing procedures under consultant supervision
Manage the monthly MDT meetings
Engage in research activities, either existing or candidates own research.

The unit offers a two tier system for junior doctors. The successful applicant will work on the middle grade rota. The job includes nights and weekends on call. There is a regular weekend on-call and approximately three nights monthly.
Emergency Cover
The Junior Doctor accepts that he / she will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the Duty Consultant, in conjunction where practicable with his / her colleagues, both senior and junior.
It has been agreed between the professions and the DHSS while junior staffs accept that they will perform such duties, it stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptional and in particular that Junior Staff should not be required to undertake work on this kind for prolonged periods on a regular basis.
