PART TIME RECEPTIONIST/CLERICAL OFFICER 15hrs per Weekat Croydon University Hospital.
We are looking for a reliable, confident, friendly part time receptionist/clerical officer to cover reception and switchboard services working at Croydon University Hospital.
The opening hours for Main reception are 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday.
We require a part time Receptionist/Clerical Officer 2 days per week 15 hours as follows-Croydon University Hospital- All day Thursdays & Fridays - 8.00 - 4pm.
The post holder will be required to contribute to the smooth running of the reception desk by providing support and advice to the visitors and patients.Flexibility and a helpful can do attitude are therefore essential.
Main duties of the job
- The reception/clerical team is the first point of contact for patients and members of the public, contractors and staff. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high standard of customer care combined with the ability to work calmly in a sometimes stressful and busy environment.
- Experience in dealing with members of the public is required.
- It is essential that applicants have good written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent organisation and time management skills. The ability to prioritise work and respond to enquiries in a professional manner is vita
- Applicants should be able to work unsupervised, using their own initiative.
- Applicants must be computer literate and a working knowledge of Ordering system and Cerner databases will be an advantage, however training can be provided if necessary.

Provide an efficient front line reception and telephone service working alone and as part of a team ensuring relief cover for one another as and when necessary.
Recording and relaying accurate messages dealing with enquiries and taking messages.
Ordering and receipting of stationery, medical supplies and domestic supplies Check stock levels re-ordering as necessary to ensure levels maintained.
Required to move and handle stock, unpack deliveries and put away supplies.
To act as a Fire coordinator in the event of a fire/alarm and co-ordinate a full building evacuation following Trust Procedures.
To be able to follow and act on Emergency Trust procedures supported by the Service Administrator.
To test the fire alarms, panic and lift alarms on a weekly basis.
To report building issues to facilities help desk and monitor progress of repairs etc.
To have responsibility for Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others in the working Environment.
To follow safe working practice and to comply at all times with the Trusts Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
To be able to lock, unlock and alarm premises.
To ensure confidentiality on all matters relating to patients and information obtained during the course of employment.
