Job summary

Applications are invited to apply for trust grade SHO in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Croydon University Hospital for a period of 6 months

The post offer the successful candidate the potential to work with Obstetrics and Gynaecology there are plentiful opportunities to gain experience in management of a wide range of medical conditions in a friendly and supportive environment.

Croydon University Hospital is large DGH serving a diverse population and the successful candidate will gain a wealth of NHS experience in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Candidates will also be able to pursue specific skills depending on their level of competence and experience.

There are 20 full-time Consultants and other specialist colleagues working less than full time. The middle and junior grade is staffed by a variety of doctors including Associate Specialist, Specialist Registrars/StR3+, General Practice Vocational Scheme (GPVTS) trainees and foundation doctors.

Main duties of the job

The duties under Consultant/Registrar supervision include the following:1. Supervision and day-to-day care of ward patients.2. General supervision of the wards.3. Taking part in antenatal and gynaecology clinics with the Consultant.4. Ward rounds on the Labour Ward and Post-natal Ward5. Attending gynaecological operating lists in the Main Theatre Suite and also in the DayCare Unit.6. Managing patients in Early Pregnancy Unit and Obstetric Triage
