Job summary

The Quality Analyst role is a critical part of the growing Quality team at Croydon University Hospital. This is a varied and interesting role, which provides the jobholder with an insight into data for all aspects of the quality team to include Quality Assurance and Compliance, Patient Safety, and Patient Experience. It is a key role that will help the Trust and the Quality team to have a much wider, deeper and all-encompassing understanding of its business that will ultimately improve services, standards and safety for patients and staff alike

Main duties of the job

The role will ensure relevant, accurate and appropriate information is captured and provided in a timely manner, in a format that can be understood from the Risk Management System and other data sources. The post holder will provide and support with analytical data and reports to the Quality Team as well as to Directorates, Services and departments. This includes using data collected for writingreports and presentations when required.

The role includes supporting the Quality Assurance and Compliance team with gathering, extracting and analysing data to support effective quality assurance and compliance processes within the Trust.

The candidate will work with Risk Management system event leads to ensure the system has the capabilities necessary to provide the data required, ensure data quality and identify where improvements to the system are required as well as training.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in Microsoft packages, be a team player who can effectively and efficiently work in a fast changing environment and often on their own initiative.

Education, Qualification and or training

Essential

  • Educated to degree level/equivalent or higher, or experience in the field of quality and public relations.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable

  • Previous Experience within the NHS

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

Essential

  • Knowledge of regulatory and national frameworks and constitutional requirements for quality and engagement in the NHS
  • Understanding of Equality and Diversity issues
  • Motivated to improve the quality, safety, and experience of healthcare
  • Analysing data or information and using this to influence practice

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Quality e.g. Patient Safety, Clinical effectiveness and quality compliance
  • Understanding of the healthcare environment in both acute and community settings
  • Understand the importance of data quality and how this can affect outcomes

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience of gathering, cleansing and interpreting data and implementing measurable improvement plans
  • Experience of managing resources across multiple teams and specialties
  • Experience of using data for audit and other benchmarking strategies, using the result of interim change and improvement

Desirable

  • Experience in facilitating and implementing change and improvement related to the Friends and Family Test (FFT) and CQC National Patient Experience Surveys.
  • Experience in using Datix/Radar/or other health risk management systems

SKILLS/ABILITIES
