Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the operational management and the effective and efficient deliveryof the services provided within the Integrated Women Children & Sexual Health directorate. The post holderwill support the General Manager, Head of Public Health Nursing matrons, and Clinical Business Unit, inensuring effective co-ordination and management of budgets and agreed national or local performanceobjectives and contracts.The Service Manager will be responsible for the line management of the administrative staff within theservices, ensuring compliance with appraisal and core skills training (CST).They will provide a high level of professional, expert administrative support to Public Health Nursing in linewith the Operations Managers, Team Leaders, and administrative staff. This will include identifying keyservice improvement and redesign projects to improve departmental efficiency improving and supportingpatient experience, quality of care and waiting times.The post holder will have a high level of autonomy and will be expected to achieve the objectives andrequirements of the role based on their experience and knowledge on how best to achieve this

Main duties of the job

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Service planning and delivery 1. Exercise delegated authority on behalf of the General Manager (GM) to resolve day-to-day (non[1]clinical) management issues within the service(s) 2. To assist the Head of Public Health Nursing and operational leads in the production of business plans, and service development for the service, where appropriate leading on specific service plans. 3. To be responsible for any specific budget areas delegated by the GM and to support the GM/Matron in co-ordinating budgets and financial plans for the services. 4. To analyse, monitor and manage patient activity and other service performance in a way that complies with National, Regional or local standards, targets and performance contracts. 5. Ensuring the development and maintenance of performance dashboards for the service(s) 6. To ensure that action plans agreed by the General Manager, Associate Directors and Clinical director to adjust capacity in response to performance against targets and to meet access targets are implemented. 7. Manage the analysis of data delegated by the GM to ensure the leadership teams have access to timely and accurate information on all key performance indicators. 8. To produce reports on financial, contractual and performance as necessary. 9. Attend weekly performance meetings, supporting and pursuing actions.

  • Qualification in social work, nursing, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, physiotherapy or relevant subject and registration with a professional regulatory body

  • Proven experience of leadership in health or social care services including operational management
  • Experience of managing/supervising staff
  • Experience of using a full range of IT systems and patient/client data systems (including excellent understanding of MS Office packages)
