Job summary

The role of Director of Planned Care

The Director of Planned Care leads the delivery of the national standards for Elective Care, Diagnostics and Out Patients. Trust wide working across the organisation in conjunction with the Clinical Directorate leadership teams to support the delivery of our ambitions.

The post holder will be key to the successful development and achievement of the National Elective Care Standards of access and care, improving the operational performance and therefore patient experience across elective pathways provided by the Trust. The role is a key member of the senior leadership team of the Planned Services and is part of the wider team of Directors within the organisation.

Main duties of the job

  • leading on the performance framework and governance around elective activity plans
  • leading on the compliance and assurance framework for Trust-wide regulatory functions, including the RTT access standards
  • influencing health and care system partners across South West London and the wider region
  • preparation, agreement and monitoring of the programme budgets, and ensure services are delivered efficiently
  • ensuring planned care services deliver high quality and safety standards at all times
