An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Podiatrist to work as an integral member of the integrated high risk podiatry service.
Working as part an integrated hospital and Community service working in tandem with the diabetes, vascular and orthopaedic services, and also the district and practice nursing teams. The podiatry service is very much at the heart of the Multi-disciplinary team.
There is ongoing support from these services, with the opportunity to spend time in theatre, and participate in audit.
The department has study days to facilitate development.
Main duties of the job
Specialist Podiatrist Band 7
The successful applicant will be required to work as an integrated autonomous practitioner, responsible for assessing, diagnosing, care planning, and delivering treatment to patients with a wide range of clinical needs. These patients will be high need high risk patients, with a number of conditions such as diabetes and peripheral arterial disease, and a co morbidities.
Care plan development, execution and revision of the plans will be undertaken; this would be alongside the various other health care professionals including practice and district nurses, tissue viability nurses
The post holder must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work alone and as part of a team. Commitment to patient care is paramount as you will be assisting them in achieving their maximum potential.
The post holder will be encouraged to take part in various CPD activities including clinical support, and in- house training during team meetings, and staff meetings.
The post holder should be able to drive and have their own car to travel around the district.
There is an opportunity to be involved with audit and research.
