Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the end to end life cycle of corporate applications with an emphasis on a wide range of Microsoft products focusing on:
- Product efficiency
- Promoting MS products within current licence agreement and look for saving and improvement opportunities.
- Liaising with services and departments within the trust to improve existing processes and procedures.
- Training and support
- Customisation
- Updates and Maintenance - stay current with MS updates and patches, ensuring applications are up-to-date and secure
- Collaboration - Collaborate with Digital Services Teams as well as other departments to integrate MS apps with other systems and tools to consolidate and remove legacy solutions with MS products where possible and feasible

The postholder must have previous experience of delivering high availability business and safety critical applications, preferably in a clinical setting. This role is crucial to the ability of the digital services department in providing an effective service to the Trust and therefore to the effective provision of corporate services to staff and patients. The postholder must demonstrate experience of providing an effective service to customers and a focus on customer communications and service improvement.
Main duties of the job
- To contribute towards the continuous improvement of the service offered
- Plan the development of a range of business critical corporate and CHS systems
- Ensure that root cause analysis is performed for application incidents
- Work with 3rd party vendors to deliver a quality service which meets the needs of the Trust
- Take a lead role in the delivery of applications from project into live support
- To provide assurance to senior management that corporate and IT system budgets deliver value for money through effective strategic and tactical planning of procurements and effective contract management
- Work with senior management to agree the approach, scope & service design for any given new corporate capability
- Work with senior management and stakeholders to ensure fit for purpose business continuity plans are in place and tested, and underpinned by appropriate technology disaster recovery plans and that the process for applications recovery, including application prioritisation in the event of a major incident, is agreed with the business and fully documented.
