We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for you to join our team in Croydon.
The General and Vascular Surgery Department at Croydon University Hospital boasts an outstanding record of delivering high-quality elective and emergency care, along with a strong commitment to education and training. The department is composed of 12 Consultants and 15 registrars, supported by a full complement of SHOs and foundation doctors.
Croydon University Hospital (CUH) is seeking to appoint a Trust Grade Registrar in General & Vascular Surgery. This position, at a middle-grade level, is offered on a fixed-term basis for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. Applications are welcome from general surgeons at various levels:
- (1) ST3 equivalent (non-training-grade registrar)
- (2) post-MRCS SHO looking for a supported registrar post
- (3) Post-CCT
While the post is initially set for 6 months, there exists the potential for extension, dependent on the suitability of the candidate.

Interviews scheduled for the week commencing 4th September 2023.
Main duties of the job
The fellow will seamlessly integrate into the team of existing consultants and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals. Alongside the current cohort of registrars within the firm, the fellow will assume responsibility for overseeing and facilitating the daily operations of general surgery, endocrine, and vascular services. This will be carried out under the careful supervision of the consultants.
It's important to note that this post is not endorsed as an approved postgraduate training program by Health Education England (HEE). Nevertheless, individuals holding this post will receive support to pursue CESR qualification and FRCS examination upon request.
