Job summary

The Oral and Maxillofacial department are looking to appoint 2 Oral and Maxillofacial Consultant for a permanent role within Croydon health Services. The successful candidates will become part of a team of 3 Consultants, 1 associate Specialist and 3 specialty doctors.

These posts consists of 7 programmed activities (PA's).

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

• They will be expected to participate in most of the day-to-day activities of the department in co-operation with the rest of the OMF medical staffing.
• participate in operating lists
• out-patient clinics
• carry out administration related to these activities.
• provide advice to junior staff where appropriate.
• The successful candidate is expected to participate in all the other on-going activities of the department including audit, research projects and to attend departmental meetings and teaching sessions.
• Be involved in the supervision and training of junior doctors and Medical Students within the hospital.
• To observe the Trust's agreed guidelines and procedures, on clinical matters and to follow the local and national employment Human Resources Policies and Procedures
• To ensure adequate arrangements are in place for two-way communication between hospital staff involved in the care of the post holder's patients when necessary.
• To contribute and to participate in the Head and Neck Directorate's clinical audit and annual appraisal programmes.
