Assistant Psychologist Band 5

1.0WTE (fixed term contract until 31.3.24)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant psychologist to join the Post COVID Recovery Team. We are looking for enthusiastic psychology graduates committed to working with this interesting population in Croydon.

The assistant psychologist will mainly contribute to running groups and there will be supporting admin duties in screening of post covid syndrome patients working closely with members of the multidisciplinary team. The role includes administrative duties such as carrying out tasks related to data collection and analysis, arranging appointments and other office duties. It also involves direct clinical work. . There will be opportunities to carry out psychological interviews, mood screens, neuropsychological assessments using standardised tools and facilitating psycho-educational groups.There will be opportunities for the assistant psychologist to be involved in service evaluation and service development projects. Supervision will be available from experienced clinical psychologists and neuropsychologist within the team and department.There will be regular supervision from a qualified clinical psychologist, offering the opportunity to develop clinical skills, knowledge and experience

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join a multi-disciplinary community team for adults with post COVID syndrome, based in the heart of Croydon. The service is located in Broad Green Hospital with flexible working and some remote working is possible, The PCRT comprises Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, assistants and administrators.

The post holder will run a variety of psychology groups for patients and families of patients with long COVID syndrome.
