Job summary

- Hold a Care Certificate issued by an NHS provider organisation (Care Certificate from NHS England or external training provider is not acceptable)
- Or have completed an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care from UK College. Certificates from outside the UK are unacceptable.
Accountable to Deputy Service General Manager/Head of Nursing.The post Holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary ward / departmental team undertaking duties in relation to patient care and a full range of support functions including clerical duties.
The Trust will support the HCAHCSW to obtain their competences during the tenure of their contract. However, the contract will expire/terminate at 12 months if they do not successfully obtain the care certificate. Options to extend a contract will be on a case-by-case basis. If staff do not obtain their care certificate they will not be employed on a permanent Band 2 role, however they may be eligible to apply for other Band 2 roles in the Trust (e.g. discharge lounge, phlebotomy etc).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide delegated, supervised work and duties assigned by a Registered Nurse /midwife as appropriate, ensuring that there is continual feedback to the Registered nurse about the patient's condition.
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of quality patient care to meet their physical, psychological and social needs maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
