Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the management of a designated area, thus ensuring provision of high standards of care delivery within available resources. The post holder will provide line management, guidance, support and leadership to all staff within the Theatre Department.

Main duties of the job

Primary responsibilities includes:

To provide safe environment for unconscious patients emerging from anaesthesia, including airway maintenance and vital sign monitoring

Identifying and managing surgical or anaesthetic complications

Pain Administration, Fluid management, Wound care, Drug administration

To act as a team leader for Recovery team

To act as practice supervisor, responsible for completing competency documents for junior staff within agreedtimeframes.

To act as a mentor to students undertaking further education asrequested, ensuring a positive learning experience andfacilitatingthe development of their clinical skills.

To contribute to the wider educational activities within the Care Group ensuringattendance atand the delivery of educational activities within the Care Group.
