Job summary
This exciting role will contribute to the delivery of the LGT Stop Smoking Service objectives and the wider objectives of the Trust by providing high-quality, expert stop smoking interventions to inpatients, outpatients,visitors and staff.
With extensive experience delivering stop smoking interventions, the Tobacco Dependence Treatment (TDT) Specialist Advisor will deliver the smoking element of the NHS LTP by providing ward-based stop smoking interventions at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) or University Hospital Lewisham (UHL) based upon the Ottawa and CURE Models of Smoking Cessation.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can produce results in a challenging environment.As the TDT Specialist Advisor it will be your responsibility to provide TDT interventions with the support of the TDT Specialist.
This role requires an ability to manage time and resources effectively to ensure that you hit targets and provide highly effective support for smokers who are admitted to either Lewisham (UHL) or Greenwich (QE) hospitals.
Candidates with experience of delivering ward-based stop smoking interventions would be ideally suited to this role, as would individuals with experience providing stop smoking interevntions in the community.
TheTobacco Dependence Treatment team will have a specialist,an advisor, coordinators, and an administrator on each of the hospital sites in the Trustand theteam will sit within the Stop Smoking Service to form an integrated treatment pathway for inpatients as they are discharged to the community.

Experience
Essential
- Substantial experience in delivering stop smoking interventions on a one-to-one or group basis
- Substantial experience of advising use of stop smoking medications for people with complex health conditions.
- Experience of delivering services in deprived communities
- Substantial experience in delivering health improvement or community development programmes.
- Experience of delivering public health initiatives which involve partnership work across agencies and professions
- Able to negotiate, influence and motivate others including clinical leads, senior managers and staff
- Experience of teaching and training
- Substantial experience of advising use of stop smoking medications for people with complex health conditions
- Able to interpret research and apply to practice
- Able to analyse data to improve the service.
- Able to use initiative and work independently with minimum supervision
