Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as a part time (18.75 hours) Diabetes Pump Administrator. The role will support the Diabetes Specialist Nurse team with the overall management of consumables, including pump ordering, invoice receipting, data input and co-ordination of technology training across the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Queen Mary's Sidcup sites.

Main duties of the job

To complete pump/continuous glucose monitor (CGM) order forms and send to suppliers

To receipt invoices for pumps/consumables and continuous glucose monitors (CGM)

To input data into NDA database on a quarterly basis

To maintain a comprehensive spreadsheet of all pump patients to facilitate reimbursement of pump and consumables

To liaise with pump company reps and the Diabetes Specialist Nurses (DSNs) to arrange and facilitate virtual and in-person continuous glucose monitor (CGM)training sessions

To ensure training equipment, including demo pumps and demo continuous glucose monitors (CGM)are available by liaising with pump companies

To maintain and develop database for holding complex and confidential information

To deal with telephone calls relating to the service, ensuring patient focus is maintained and enquiries are handled in a courteous, tactful and prompt manner and respecting patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Evidence of some formal further training in short courses, experience of a range of admin practices and with significant experience of hospital administration

Experience

  • Significant proven experience of delivering to high standards in a fast-paced high volume customer care environment.
  • Ability to deal with a range of issues independently and efficiently
  • Proven administrative experience

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of multi-disciplinary staff
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team
  • Demonstrable experience of data collection, presentation, report writing and handling of data quality issues
  • Ability to work with confidential data and information and deal with sensitive issues discreetly
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with relation to Microsoft Office packages, e.g. Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload and that of junior staff
