Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 3 Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) to join our Outpatient Nursing Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Stadium Road,

The job is full-time (37.5 hours per week), Mondays to Fridays, with no weekends or bank holidays.

The HCSW will work within the outpatient clinics to deliver care to patients coming from home or nursing care homes. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting a wide range of specialities: endocrine, urology, dermatology, neurology, dietician, ENT and plastic teams to name a few.

The HCSW will assist patients with moving and handling, transferring to other departments and documenting observations on patients' records.

All applicants must have a care certificate from an NHS Trust.

Urology - flow rate, bladder scanning, urinalysis.

Moving and handling - transferring patients on wheel chair to x-ray, scans, transport, giving care to patients on trolley waiting to see doctors in OPD.

Phlebotomy - venepuncture

Experience working in Ears, nose and throat OPD.

Chaperoning doctors

Work in the minor operation room - dermatology
