Job summary

This is a fixed term appointment for 6 months for a whole-time post at the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT), Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) site. Currently the Haematology Department provides BCSH Level 2B care. This post will be based primarily at QEH. The appointee will join 2 Speciality doctors, two Haematology Specialist Registrars, a Haemato-oncology Core Medical Trainee, a Foundation Year 2 junior doctor and five Haematology Consultants.

The start date is 20th May 2025.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will, after appropriate training and experience, be expected to provide ward cover for haematology inpatients under the supervision of the haematology consultant.

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Registered with GMC and hold a licence to practise
  • RCP Part 1, MRCPCH or equivalent

Desirable

  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent

  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standard/Good Medical Practice including good clinical care
