Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the LGT speech and language therapy team in an assistant role. The postholder will offer clinical and non-clinical support to a team of SLTs across acute wards, outpatient dysphagia clinics and videofluoroscopy clinics.
Main duties of the job
To undertake all aspects of clinical and non-clinical duties and to carry a delegated caseload of patients under the direct and indirect supervision of a qualified therapist, including but not limited to:
- Working alone on a ward
- Carrying out swallow screens
- Reviewing designated patients regarding food intake and consistency
- Delivering therapy plans according to SLT guidance
- Assisting with the running of the weekly videofluoroscopy clinic (clinic set-up and feeding of patients)
- Scheduling, set up and delivery of SLT related training within scope of own role
