Job summary
Our busy Cardiac Department is looking to recruit a Senior Cardiographer to complement our established team.
You will have extensive experience of performing ECGs in a healthcare environment where this role will require you to be involved in Holter, Event and BP monitoring as well as taking a supporting role during Exercise Tolerance testing.
We do have a large and busy Cardiac Diagnostic service in an ever changing environment with a multi disciplinary team performing a large range of complex Diagnostic investigations. we also offer community diagnostics at our Eltham Community Diagnostic site which you will rotate to within your role
Main duties of the job
To perform routine and emergency ECG's on adult, paediatric and SCBU patients, both in and outpatients.
To apply and remove 24 hour Holter recorders, PAM's and ABPM's.
To explain the process and procedures to all patients and to liaise with interpreting services, carers and family etc.
To remove and collect returned monitoring equipment and discuss patient symptoms as per daily recording. To download monitor and reassure/discuss with patient as appropriate for the investigation.
To assist patients in preparation for cardiac investigations, for example support when transferring or assistance with dressing and undressing.
To attend ward environments as required taking appropriate equipment for the required investigation.
To carry out routine cleaning of all routine pieces of equipment.
To prepare and perform exercise tolerance tests under the supervision of a Senior Cardiac Physiologist or Doctor.
To assist senior technician in performing TOE's by monitoring ECG and blood pressure and instituting emergency procedures as required.
