Job summary

The Trust Clinical Academy is an established group that brings together a range of faculty members providing or considering providing accredited courses that the Trust has/will develop and implement. The accreditation and the moderation of these courses are currently provided by the University of Greenwich.

A strategic aim of the Trust is to develop and expand these courses to enable the on-going development of our professional workforce. We currently develop in the region of five hundred registered healthcare professionals annually, although the Trust plan to increase this to around fifteen hundred over the coming years.

A full time Clinical Academy and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Administrator is required to support the work of the growing CA portfolio of courses and manage the administration associated with the provision, development of courses

The role will support administration on a range of course modules and / or aspects of these modules.

Main duties of the job

The key functions of the role are, but not limited to, the following:

- To take responsibility for the administration of the LGCA Moodle VLE by coordinating the students flow including course bookings, the creation of cohorts/groups and assist with end of course procedures.

- To assist course leaders in the creation and content management in the VLE.

- To work as a member of the LGCA team providing a comprehensive secretarial, clerical, and administrative service to all members of team in connection with the delivery and organisation of courses.

- To be willing to develop the role including attending further training as the LGCA needs grow.

Moodle administration

To enrol students on the Moodle site and on the relevant courses as needed.

Trouble shoot any problems in relation to students' enrolments.

To create new courses on the Moodle site when required.

To provide training to course leaders when required in respect to Moodle.

To support the production of detailed reports of course and student activity.

To liaise with technical providers to ensure the contracted services run without interruption.

To liaise the with and IT to ensure trust standards are met.

To support the course leaders setting up attendance, submission and another bespoke administrative task.

To keep a record of the courses and course dates.

To support course leaders with end of course procedures.

To ensures the specific clinical academy policies in relation to Moodle are met.

To archive and maintain a centralised record of the course backups.
