Job summary

The post holder will work alongside the Medical Rostering and Revalidation Team to support the continuing use of medical rostering systems (principally Healthroster, e-Rota and Exception Reporting) providing advice, guidance and solutions to make optimum use of digital tools. The key responsibilities of the post holder will be:

Main duties of the job

  • Provide responsive, professional and customer-focused rostering service by responding to service requests and queries from trust employees via phone, email and other forms of communication.
  • Lead on the set-up of junior doctor's rosters on Healthroster for each rotation, working closely with departments, Medical Staffing and Medical Education. To work with departments to ensure working rosters are circulated in line with the code of practice.
  • Supporting departments with rota design for junior doctors, checking for compliance and recommending changes.
  • Advising services on the functionality of Healthroster and Medics on Duty and promote new functionality.
  • Supporting services to ensure Healthroster functionality is applied to improve rostering practices.
  • Providing one-to-one and group training on Healthroster functionality to provide and improve accuracy and rostering best practices.
  • Supporting educational supervisors, departments and Guardian of Safe Working with exception reporting system, ensuring that exception reports are reviewed, actioned and processed in a timely manner,
  • Supporting the transition to business as usual for consultants and SAS doctors
  • To work closely with managers, and clinical and operational staff to ensure the successful utilisation and management of medical rostering systems and associated working practices across the Trust.
  • To identify areas of further training needs and support colleagues to ensure the development and delivery of additional training.
