We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Specialty Doctor in Dermatology to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Specialty Doctor, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality clinical care to patients. You will collaborate with consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat a wide range of skin conditions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments of patients presenting with skin conditions.
  • Diagnose various skin conditions, including but not limited to, eczema, psoriasis, acne, skin cancer, drug eruptions, and skin infections.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on patients' medical history, examination findings, and diagnostic test results.
  • Perform procedures such as cryotherapy, skin biopsies and excisions of skin lesions (with appropriate supervision).
  • Monitor the progress of patients, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including dermatologists, nurses, pathologists, and radiologists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in medical education and training programs for junior staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient consultations, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in dermatology through continuous professional development and attending relevant conferences or workshops.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation Competencies in line with GMC Standards/Good Medical Practice

Desirable

  • 1st class honors for BSc
  • Distinction, merits or equivalent throughout undergraduate medical program
  • MRCP Part 1

Clinical Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Can demonstrate clinical experience in diagnosing and treating various dermatological conditions.
  • Proficiency in performing dermatological procedures and interventions.
  • Successful completion of Foundation Training

Desirable

  • Completion of postgraduate training in dermatology and acquisition of CCT or equivalent.

Research and Audit Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrate understanding of the importance of audit and research
  • Evidence of active participation in audit
  • Understanding of research principles.
  • Previous experience in research activity.
  • Active audit interest demonstrated by at least one completed clinical audit in the last 12 months.

Desirable

  • Evidence of relevant academic and research achievement
  • Publications in peer review journals.
