Job summary
We are currently seeking 1x FY1 equivalent, 1x FY2 equivalent and 1x SHO for a 4-month post until August 2024 in acute, General Medicine and geriatrics. There is also the exciting opportunity to gain experience in a clinic setting. The successful candidate would be on a rotation identical to the medical trainees, including an educational supervisor and study budget. The post includes out of hours work.
Main duties of the job
This position involves managing patient's medical illnesses under consultant supervision, requesting investigations and organising treatments for ward patients. To promote good liason with primary care, the candidate would provide detailed discharge summaries. They would participate in the training of medical students attached to "the firm".
The role would involve communication with patients and liaising with patients' relatives.
The position involves oncall services and the clerking of new patients as well as attending emergencies and managing acutely unwell patients under supervision.
