Job summary

The Conference Centre Team provides a comprehensive, customer orientated, quality driven service to all users of the Conference Centres at both the University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich. We host training courses, exhibitions, workshops, local award ceremonies, learning resource centres and meeting spaces for use by the whole Trust.

Main duties of the job

To provide friendly, welcoming and efficient conference and training administration services to the Trust, including booking and setting up training rooms, uploading presentations, setting up and trouble-shooting AV equipment and providing reception services to visitors.

Job description

Job responsibilities

All post holders are required to work these hours as agreed with the Education Business Manager. In addition, the ability to work outside these hours is also desirable to enable cover of occasional additional evening/early morning and weekend meetings/events organised through the hire of the centre. Time off in lieu or overtime is available for events outside the contracted hours, in line with Trust policy.

Job Role Summary:

To provide friendly, welcoming and efficient conference and training administration services to the Trust, including booking and setting up training rooms, uploading presentations, setting up and trouble-shooting AV equipment and providing reception services to visitors.

The Conference Centre supports one of the departmental aims of making learning integral to the everyday life and work of staff, and to improving the health services on offer for the community Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust serves by maximising staff competence and expertise. The Conference Centres role is to meet the Trust requirements for training facilities and promote these facilities for hire to external clients for income generation. The Conference Centre incorporates the Education Centre QEH & Owen Centre/Education Centre UHL. The Owen Centre currently houses 13 seminar/meetings rooms, a Learning Resource Centre, plus offices. The Education Centre houses a 150 seat auditorium, plus a Library.

The post holder is expected to work a shift pattern that provides adequate cover during the opening hours of the Conference Centre between 07.45 and 17.45 hours. In addition the ability to work outside these hours is also expected that Conference Centre Administrators will cover additional evening/early morning meetings/events organised through the hire of the Centres. Overtime or time off in lieu is given for these events in line with Trust policy.
