We are looking for an inspired and dynamic individual with Acute and Emergency Medicine experience to lead our 39 bedded General Medicine Ward. The job will be suitable for senior nurses looking to advance their leadership and managerial career. The job offers the unique opportunity to bring your expertise to ensure safe and compassionate patient experience whilst maximising our capacity utilisation through innovative ways.
You will be leading the staff members to deliver high quality care in our 39 bedded General Medicine Ward. Ward 1 manages patients with various acute and chronic medical conditions including endocrinology and diabetes. It acts as a step down ward for patients receiving further medical care from the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit and ITU.
Ward 1 works closely with our partners in the sector to provide treatments for our patients in close collaboration with the Consultants, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists, Discharge Co-ordinators, Specialist nurses and various other multi-disciplinary teams.
Ward 1 team is integral to the service in offering optimum flow and excellent patient care.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will have responsibility for providing leadership to the team ensuring that care standards are monitored and maintained at the highest level as well as working collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a quality service for patients.
You will have a team of highly competent band 6 nurses, your colleagues from other acute medicine wards, matrons and senior nursing teamworking collaboratively to achieve the Trust's vision of providing excellent care to our patients.
You will demonstrate organisational and management skills and will be able to motivate and effectively lead the ward team in delivering high quality care to our patients.
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. You must have experience at a senior staff nurse level within an acute medical setting.
You will be a clinical role model and have a willingness to develop the team as well as your own professional growth.
