Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Workforce Information team and support the delivery of high-quality job evaluation and workforce intelligence services.

We will be looking to you to lead and manage the Job evaluation process end to end, co-ordinating panels, appeals and training sessions, developing core processes and maintaining related systems such as IJES and ESR. You will provide support to relevant projects and play a key part in the development and maintenance of MS forms and automation to prepare and present tailored workforce information to a variety of audiences within agreed timescales.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to engage and motivate others and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Knowledge of job evaluation is essential combined with experience manipulating, analysing and presenting large datasets. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Forms and Power Automate would be an advantage.

Job responsibilities

The primary focus will be leading and managing the Job Evaluation process alongside ESR (Electronic Staff Record) workforce analysis activities including work structures maintenance, information analysis and presentation. The post holder will also provide support to other workforce projects related to Workforce Planning and Intelligence, including MS forms and automation and development of generic job descriptions/roles. The postholder will have broad knowledge and experience and will be expected to work autonomously in exercising their own initiative and judgement to manage their workload, lead some project workstreams, make decisions and proactively deal with most issues independently overcoming obstacles encountered in achieving key result areas. Key Result Areas & Performance

To be responsible for the planning, governance, co-ordination and integrity of the job evaluation process at LGT including appeals and consistency checking.

To provide comprehensive and professional service including responsibility for developing and maintaining core processes, documentation and reporting as well as the co-ordination and scheduling of job evaluation/matching panels, appeals and training sessions. To build and maintain excellent working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Manages, staff side and workforce colleagues ensuring full engagement and partnership working to raise the profile of Job evaluation. To manage and maintain Job Evaluation, Workforce Planning and other relevant workforce databases to enable reporting and monitoring of progress against Service Level Agreements.

To lead the development of generic job descriptions across the Trust to support consistency across roles and reduce the number of roles being individually reviewed or clustered.

To maintain organisation work structures and positions on ESR system, liaising with the Workforce Intelligence team, Finance and Trust managers to ensure establishment accuracy and reconciliation with Finance and implementation of NHS Digital coding updates and organisational changes. To support the development, implementation and maintenance of MS e-forms and automation across Job Evaluation, workforce intelligence and planning. To undertake the analysis and presentation of workforce data and where required to reconcile data from different systems and sources to ensure accuracy of monitoring and reporting. To lead Job evaluation projects and support workforce information/planning projects as required and to provide day to day professional advice and support to managers and staff on job evaluation, workforce intelligence and planning.

The ability to motivate and create enthusiasm is essential. The post holder must be pro-active and take into consideration any potential barriers to understanding and the ability to work cross culturally.

Job Evaluation

To lead on the development, implementation and maintenance of Job Evaluation policies, procedures and documentation ensuring it meets legislative requirements and the principles of the NHS Staff Council.

To schedule, co-ordinate and support matching and evaluation panels to ensure the timely delivery of matching outcomes. This will include booking panellists and rooms as well as ensuring the correct resources and documentation is available to panellists and liaising with managers and job holders who may need to provide evidence or respond to queries.

To develop and maintain systems to record job matching / evaluation outcomes to inform consistency checking and enable reporting of timeframes against service level agreements.

To be the Trust expert on job evaluation and provide guidance and recommendations to managers on the development of job descriptions ensuring national profiles are made available and Trust template is accurately reflected.

To lead and set up sub-groups to review and or address generic JDs or particular JE/JD issues ensure a collaborative process in the reviewing of existing roles.

To compile FOI (Freedom of Information) and JE data requests, drafting responses as require for review by Head of Workforce Intelligence.
