Job summary

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity makes a difference by funding projects and initiatives that enhance care and improve patient, visitor and staff experience. Supporting projects that fall outside of standard NHS provision, the charity supports Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust staff and patients.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have been able to fund projects which contribute to significant improvements at our hospital and community sites, and our ambition is grow our impact for Trust staff and patients.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Charity Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to use their supporter care, fundraising and organisational skills to make a difference to Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust's staff, patients and wider community. This role will support the Head of Charity on a range of administrative, fundraising and financial activities to harness, develop maximise support and engagement from a variety of stakeholders.

This is a critical role in enabling our charity to achieve its goals - through drawing in supporters, developing them into donors and communicating the organisation's work to build relationships and future support. It is an important link between our charity and our local community. As a small, busy, team we need an individual who can really 'hit the ground running' and be confident in being a main point of contact for our charity.

  • Previous extensive experience in a customer service/supporter care role, providing excellent supporter service (email, letters, phone and face-to-face)
  • Experience of using databases and accurately handling data entry
  • Previous experience in developing accurate written materials and record keeping, using high attention to detail
  • Previous experience in creating social media content /marketing materials/stakeholder communications in a professional setting

Desirable

  • Experience in working or volunteering in the charity sector
  • Previous experience of fundraising in the charity sector, either paid or voluntary
  • Experience of managing social media channels in a professional setting

Qualifications

  • Educated to "A" level or equivalent diploma

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience
