Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust are committed to providing quality care for our emergency patients along with the development of the workforce. We are excited to be launching a new role within the Emergency Department (ED) for experienced emergency nurses or paramedics. The role will provide expert emergency assessment and care skills to our critically unwell patients within the ED. It is anticipated the role will work a large proportion of time within the resuscitation area of the ED.
Candidates are required to have significant acute-emergency care experience and are welcomed from both an appropriate nursing or paramedic background. Successful candidates will be supported by a dedicatedtraining program, Trust training days and support to develop your portfolio of practice. The ECN/P team will have the support of the senior nursing band 7 team as well as the support from an experienced ED - Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Paramedic). As a senior nursing/paramedic role within the nursing team the person will be required to demonstrate self-motivation, a team work ethic, a dedication to high quality of care and clearly evidence their own personal and professional development.

Main duties of the job
.The role is mapped to enhanced clinical practice, in alignment with the national advancing practice agenda. As a Trust we have extensive experience with the development of the advancing practice workforce, so are excited to be launching this role. The role will have a 24 hour 7 day rota allocation.

- Registered Nurse Level 1 register or HCPC registered Paramedic
- 1st Level Degree or equivalent
- Relevant post registration clinical speciality course (Such as Emergency Nursing or relevant experience)
- Experience with working with PGD or schedule 17
Desirable
- Advanced Assessment course ALS course ATNC / TNCC or trauma training
Experience
Essential
- Minimum four years post-registration experience, with at least 2 years within critircal/ high dependency / ED or pre-hospital care
- Experience of working within the multidiciplinary team
- Experience of liaising with other agencies
- Good time management and prioritisation skills
