Job summary
We are seeking a doctor of Registrar grade, to work at the Lane Fox Respiratory Service. The post is based mainly at St Thomas' Hospital, London, though some time at the Lane Fox Remeo Centre in Redhill, Surrey is encouraged. Remeo is the satellite unit for the Lane Fox Respiratory Service. There is daily Consultant presence and training opportunities at both sites.
Less than full time applicants are encouraged. We have posts commencing in both May and August 2026. Posts are six months in the first instance, with potential to extend as required.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work with Consultants, Senior nurses, and Senior Therapists (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietician) to deliver a high standard of clinical care to the patients.
This post is to provide cover for the Lane Fox Respiratory Service. The post-holder will hone clinical skills in a complex patient group, with a focus on respiratory failure, weaning and long-term ventilator support.
There is daily Consultant input, and if desired, the opportunity to undertake small projects that will enable career progression.
The post is predominantly based at the Lane Fox Unit, in St Thomas' Hospital, London, with some time at our satellite unit, the Lane Fox Remeo Centre in Redhill, Surrey. Less than full time applicants are encouraged.

The Lane Fox Respiratory Service is a national and international referral centre for respiratory weaning, physical rehabilitation and long-term ventilation [non-invasive and invasive]. We support a large population (over 2000 patients) with non-invasive ventilation, and an increasing number of tracheostomy ventilated patients in the community. We are unique in the UK in providing 24-hour medical, nursing and technical back-up for patients in the community.
