Person Specification

Education

Essential

• Full GMC registration
• MBBS or equivalent
• On the Specialist Register of The GMC for Cardiology or within 6 months of eligibility at the time of interview.
• Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in cardiac medicine, or within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview

Desirable

• Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)

Experience

Essential

• Sub-specialist interest in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support devices
• Experience in Short term machinical support
• Experience in intensive care treatment

Desirable

• Experience in Echocardiography (trans-thoracic and trans-oesophageal)

Skills

Essential

• Ability to initiate & supervise research

Desirable

• Knowledge of Extracorporeal Life Support and intensive therapy management
